02Requirements

What you need to connect SMA

In Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS, user roles (Owner, Installer, Operator) only describe a user’s function; what they can do is set by user rights – Administrator, Installer or User. The User right cannot change parameters, so TokPirate needs Installer or Administrator rights; we’ll tell you which when you connect.

  • Your SMA inverters registered in Sunny Portal and sending data
  • Access to the plant in Sunny Portal with control rights – view-only isn’t enough
  • A working internet connection at the plant
  • The minimum price below which you don’t want to sell
  • Your trader’s contact details, if you want schedules sent straight to them

Not needed: new hardware, a site visit or replacing your inverters.

    Sign up for 14 days free, no card required, and tell us your plant runs on SMA.

  2. Grant access in Sunny Portal

    Follow the short instructions for Sunny Portal. If the account belongs to your installer, we’ll help you sort it out with them.

  3. Check and go live

    We confirm the inverters are visible and accept commands, you set your minimum price, and the automation takes over.

My plant is still in the classic Sunny Portal. What now?
SMA is migrating existing systems to Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS gradually, country by country, and notifies owners by e-mail once it’s done. Some older systems are not migrated automatically. Tell us which portal version your plant is in and we’ll check what access is needed before switching on the automation.
How do I give you access in Sunny Portal?
In Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS you add a new user to the system and choose an access level. If that user isn’t registered in the portal yet, they receive an e-mail invitation. We’ll give you the address to invite when you connect.
Is curtailment safe for my SMA inverters?
Yes. We use the manufacturer’s standard power-limiting function – the same one you could set by hand in Sunny Portal. Output is reduced smoothly rather than switching the inverters off abruptly.
How much does TokPirate cost for a plant with SMA inverters?
Pricing depends on the number of inverters, not the brand: Start (up to 5 inverters) at €19/month, Pro (up to 25 inverters) at €69/month and Business (up to 100 inverters) at €199/month – or €15, €52 and €149 a month billed annually. Custom (over 100 inverters) is priced on request. Prices exclude VAT, and the first 14 days are free, no card required. See pricing.
